Live Blog - Home and Garden Show 2011

This blog post will be updated periodically over the next three days (Friday 26th to Sunday 28th) about our experiences at the Home and Garden Show 2011 at the Austin Convention Center right in the heart of downtown. Come check out the show, our booth, and the rest of the great vendors. A big thanks to the Craig Bushon Show for helping us with this opportunity!

9:06: Good morning, Austin! Caleb here - Head of Marketing at CHORE Masters.  I'm here at the Home and Garden Show 2011 with our CEO Jeffrey Jackson at the Austin Convention Center to get our booth set up.  We arrived at the back entrance of the Convention Center to get our awesome CHORE Masters truck inside (it's part of our display). Thought for a minute there they might not let it in due to not wanting the carpet to get damaged.  Jeff used his years of sales experience to assure them it would be okay.  And indeed, it was.

11:02am: We are still setting up but we still have plenty of time - the show doesn't open to the public until 2pm. Gotta go pick up a few more display items to wrap up.  Come see for yourself!  We have a plinko board (made by Caleb, painted by Jeff) and a treasure chest FULL of useful tools and goodies that are useful around the home.  Tell your friends and family to come check us out, win some prizes, and get majorly deep discounts on a membership!

5:40pm: We've been busy! Met a lot of really nice and interested folks.  Home Concierge is a concept that people are not familar with so it's fun to be able to educate people about it and have them realize how helpful the service is in their home. It's getting towar the end of the day and things are slowing down (which is why I've been able to take a break for a minute and post here. Apparently Fridays at this (and most) shows are typically slow so the fact we got as much interest and traffic as we did is great! We are very excited for what tomorrow will bring. And I am excited to rest my feet.

Monday Morning Recap: Well, the live blog would have been a great idea... if we had the manpower to allow someone to be doing nothing at any point during the show.  Unfortunately (or fortunately, really) we were so busy with constant traffic coming by and wanting to talk we couldn't take a break to log on here and post.  Sorry folks! I hope you all had a chance to get down to the show if you wanted to.  It officially hit 112° over the weekend which I believe is some sort of record.  Inside the Austin Convention Center was very pleasant and not a bad place to spend a weekend.

We were really excited by the feedback at the show. People there are not "tire-kickers" - they mean business! They are coming out to find services / products for their homes and all understand exactly where the value of our company's service lies. Really motivating and uplifting to have so many people excited about what we do.

Remember, we are honoring our show special prices until the end of the month (Wednesday at midnight).
