The article entitled “An Ounce of Prevention…Budgeting for Home Maintenance Pays Off” by Laura Jackson talks about the importance of properly maintaining your home and encompassed several other industry experts including: Joyce McDonald from Frameworks CDC, Melissa Orren from Austin Habitat for Humanity, and Chris Werth from Ashton Woods Homes. 

“I received a call last fall from Laura asking if she could interview me as an industry expert for an upcoming article about the importance for homeowners to budget for routine maintenance of their homes”, said Jeffrey S. Jackson, Founder and CEO of CHORE Masters LLC.  “We did the interview and I remember telling Laura how CHORE Masters entire concept was for this exact reason – to help homeowners properly maintain their homes.  She asked a ton of questions and when we were finished I think I tried closing her on a Concierge Membership for her own home.” 

The article went on to talk about the importance of properly budgeting for the necessary maintenance of a home and the reality that most homeowners don’t take that into account during the home buying process.  Chris Werth from Ashton Woods Homes was quoted in the article saying, “Even with a new home, it’s important to start budgeting for home maintenance from the very first day of home ownership”.   Chris went onto to talk about how they, as builders, contact their homeowners 1, 5, and 11 months after close to measure customer satisfaction and to make sure the homeowner is properly maintaining the home as well.
